From a London kitchen to the UAE

Mama Booza began in a London kitchen during COVID. Suzana Banna started recreating the desserts she grew up with, ashta, knafeh, halawa dibs, as ice cream. The first tubs were for her husband, then for everyone who tasted them and asked for more. There was no plan and no pitch, just a mother making the flavours she remembered, churned cold.

When Suzana visited her son Karim and his wife Anna in Dubai, she handed over the recipes. They started small: a home machine, three tubs a day, WhatsApp orders from friends. Then friends of friends. Then strangers. Word travelled faster than the little freezer could keep up.

The ice cream was growing on its own, but it needed more than a kitchen counter. They called Tracy and Wael. The four of them tasted it together and decided it was worth building properly. The brand was reimagined, the operation professionalised, and Mama Booza launched on Deliveroo to an immediate response.

Today Mama Booza operates across the UAE and has expanded into Saudi Arabia and Lebanon. The recipes still start with Suzana, and every flavour still begins as a dessert someone grew up with. A family recipe, now feeding a region.
